For the first time, Aitana Bonmati, the midfielder for Spain and Barcelona, has secured the Women’s Ballon d’Or.

The 25-year-old had an immensely successful year, contributing to her club’s victory in both the Spanish top flight and the Champions League,

while also playing a pivotal role in her country’s World Cup win during the summer.

In addition, she received the prestigious title of UEFA’s Player of the Year in August.


Meanwhile, England goalkeeper Mary Earps secured a commendable fifth place, with her teammate Rachel Daly not far behind in 10th position.
