Brymo, the unconventional artist known as Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, has accused Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning musician, of appropriating his intellectual property.

Brymo, famous for his hit song ‘Ara,’ alleges that Burna Boy’s tracks ‘City Boys’ and ‘I Told Them’ contain elements from the title track of his forthcoming album, ‘Macabre.’ He claims that Burna Boy’s actions constitute a “crime” and should lead to a prison sentence.

On his Instagram account, Brymo stated, “By the end of this year, you will recall that ‘Macabre’ had not been made public; it was as confidential as it gets. ‘City Boy’ and ‘I Told You’ were given to Burna Boy. The first of the track titles I mentioned is there to remind me that the latter, along with his album title, includes the hook that I sing in my album’s title track ‘Macabre.’ Burna is indeed a ‘boy,’ and this amounts to a crime… a genuine crime that merits a jail term. If you wish, you can even bring back legends to come forward and complain about stolen songs… you will deeply regret this on various levels. Don’t you all listen?!”
