Mathew Burkaa SAN, Emefiele’s lead counsel, presented the bail application, which was opposed by Rotimi Oyedepo on behalf of the Federal Government.

Justice Muazu refrained from delivering an immediate bench ruling, citing the multitude of legal references presented.

The Judge expressed the need to study these references and review exhibits submitted by Emefiele to support his bail plea. Currently, authorities at Kuje prison have been contacted to make transportation arrangements.
