Governor Yahaya shuts down Gombe nightclubs due to ‘incessant immorality

Muhammadu Yahaya, the Governor of Gombe State, has taken a firm step by immediately ordering the closure of local nightclubs,

commonly known as ‘Gala Houses,’ across the state.

This decision comes in response to public complaints about the harmful effects of these establishments on the community.

The directive, conveyed through a statement by the Secretary to the State Government,

Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, emphasizes the urgent need to address increasing cases of immoral behavior, criminal activities, and security breaches linked to these nightclubs.

To ensure compliance, Governor Yahaya has engaged the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC),

and Operation Hattara to deploy personnel and oversee enforcement.

The Governor is committed to protecting the state’s security and moral values and aims to eliminate activities that jeopardize residents’ well-being.

The directive specifically mentions the affected Gala Houses, including their locations,

and Governor Yahaya’s intention is to mitigate the negative impact of these nightclubs and enhance the safety of the state’s residents.
