Dr. Asema Msuega, the Medical Doctor in charge of the General Hospital in Sakera, Ukum Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State, has been abducted by unknown armed men.


The abduction occurred on a Sunday afternoon at approximately 1 pm. Dr. Msuega was accompanied by an unidentified woman when the incident took place.

They were on duty, heading to supervise the ongoing State Malaria Control (SMC) Programme at the Family Support Programme (FSP) Clinic in Uyoo, located in Ugbaam Council Ward, LGA.


According to a source from the area, the news of the kidnapping spread quickly among patients and individuals waiting at the clinic.

However, they were unsure about the identity of the victims, After some time, they managed to reach Dr. Msuega on the phone, and he revealed that he had been abducted and was blindfolded by the kidnappers.

Unfortunately, further attempts to contact him or the abductors were unsuccessful as they had turned off the phone.


The incident has been reported to the police, and the family members of Dr. Msuega are actively trying to establish communication with the abductors.


When contacted, Superintendent (SP) Catherine Anene, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation into the matter is already underway.
