“Legal Expert Robert Clark Expresses Skepticism About the Outcome of Atiku and Obi’s Appeal in Tribunal”

Robert Clark, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), expressed skepticism regarding the appeal of Wednesday’s Presidential Election Petitions Court judgment.

In an interview with Channels TV, the 85-year-old legal expert stated that he believed the Court of Appeal’s unanimous judgment was impregnable,

and he doubted that an appeal would yield any results. According to him, all the legal issues raised by the petitioners had previously been addressed by the country’s apex court.

Clark concurred with the Tribunal’s stance that the petitioners had failed to prove their case beyond reasonable doubt.

The Presidential Election Petition Court had recently dismissed petitions from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM),

the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate Atiku Abubakar, as well as the Labour Party (LP) and its candidate Peter Obi,

challenging President Tinubu’s victory in the February 25, 2023, presidential election, citing a lack of merit in the petitions.
