Losing my Senatorial bid would have caused me high blood pressure – Oshiomhole

Senator Adams Oshiomhole, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Edo State, shared his thoughts during a post-inauguration and thank you party held in his honor at his residence in Iyamho, Etsako, Edo State.

“If I had lost the election, I can’t even imagine how high my blood pressure would have risen, maybe up to 240/360, assuming I am still alive.

The celebrations from my opponents would have been so intense that they would have come, locked my door, and shattered my bones. But thankfully, that didn’t happen,” Oshiomhole conveyed to the attendees.

Oshiomhole also acknowledged that several governors had failed in their senatorial aspirations, and if he had been added to that list, it would have been a great shame for him.

He expressed his gratitude to the people of Edo North for electing him as their senator after his tenure as governor.

Furthermore, he thanked the people for supporting President Bola Tinubu in the presidential election, highlighting that Edo-North district was the only district in Edo State where Tinubu emerged victorious.

Oshiomhole pledged his dedication to effectively representing Edo North and emphasized his responsibility to ensure that the state benefits greatly from the Tinubu administration.

“There were incumbent governors across the country who contested for the Senate, and many of them lost. I left office seven years ago, yet my people still bestowed me with victory. How can I adequately thank you?” expressed Oshiomhole.

“To the people of Afeanmi, when you return to your wards and units, please convey my immense gratitude to your people. During the campaign, I told you that if you want to give me one vote, give it to Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he continued.

“I am extremely proud to announce that in each of these six Local Government Areas, in every ward, Bola Ahmed Tinubu won, and Adams Oshiomhole won,” he proudly stated.

“I will proudly present these results to Mr. President. This is my certificate from the people of Edo North who voted for you,” Oshiomhole expressed his commitment to the president.

He assured the people that Tinubu would transform Nigeria, just as he had transformed Lagos.

“Tinubu has stated that those who claim ‘Edo no be Lagos’ will still be alive when he becomes president.

Not only will he make Edo like Lagos, but even better than Lagos,” Oshiomhole declared.

“So, to those who say ‘Edo no be Lagos’ and claim that Tinubu cannot control us, please inform them that Tinubu is now the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces,” he concluded.
