In a statement issued on Sunday, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, offered advice to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Primate Ayodele emphasized that Kanu lacks the power to actualize the Biafra Republic or cause a division in Nigeria.

The media aide of Primate Ayodele, Osho Oluwatosin, signed the statement, noting that the cries of IPOB members stem from feelings of marginalization, which can be resolved through peaceful means.

Primate Ayodele appealed to Tinubu to show mercy to the embattled leader of the proscribed organization.

Furthermore, he expressed his belief that Nigeria would eventually divide peacefully, without the need for bloodshed or violence, in accordance with God’s appointed time

He expressed:

“President Tinubu ought to address the matter concerning Nnamdi Kanu and ensure justice is served. I recommend that the President releases him since he is not the one responsible for the division of Nigeria. Nnamdi Kanu cannot achieve the establishment of the Biafra Republic within Nigeria either.
“Nnamdi Kanu and the members of IPOB will only create uproar. Their protests are a response to perceived marginalization, which could be resolved through peaceful means. They do not possess the capability to cause a rift in the nation.
“When the time is right, if it is God’s will, the country will naturally undergo division without any bloodshed or violence.”
