A federal appeals court panel has mostly upheld a gag order on former President Donald Trump in his federal election interference case, citing concerns that some of his remarks could threaten the orderly adjudication of justice.

While allowing Trump to comment on the special counsel, the ruling restricts him from making statements about other prosecutors, court staff, or their families if intended to interfere with the ongoing case.

The court emphasized that, like any criminal defendant, Trump doesn’t have unrestricted speech rights.

The decision aims to prevent potential harm to the integrity of the proceedings while acknowledging the public interest in Trump’s statements.
