TRANSFER MARKET – Botafogo, the current leaders of the Brazilian league, have secured the services of former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, signing him on a free transfer.

The individual, aged 34, became a free agent following their departure from Wolverhampton Wanderers in June.

They have now agreed to a four-month contract.

“I’m thrilled to have been selected to join the family,” Costa expressed on social media.

“Thank you, and looking forward to connecting soon.

Costa is set to join former Wolves manager Bruno Lage at Botafogo, reuniting with him.

In the previous season, he played in 23 Premier League matches for Wolves and netted his first goal in the English top-flight in nearly six years, helping secure a 2-0 victory against Brentford in April.

Throughout his career, Costa achieved significant successes, including two league titles and 59 goals with Chelsea, as well as winning two Spanish La Liga titles and the Europa League during his time with Atletico Madrid.
